In this New Normal we’re all still figuring out, there have been some fascinating fashion trends to follow. Balletcore, for example, where we are all encouraged to unleash our inner swans. Zizmorcore, which was born in the New York City subway system. And now? The baseball hat for women has become an overnight sensation that might be one of the best new luxury fashion trends to emerge in 2021. Affordable, portable and easy to style: what’s not to love about a chic baseball cap? Our correspondent Jillian Tangen has curated a list of the best luxury designer baseball hats from which to choose in 2021 if you decide to go all in on this latest trend.
luxury fashion trends in the New Normal 2021
We’ll admit it: this New Normal is bewildering. We’re supposed to be excited about dressing up, “revenge spending” on sparkly shoes and fabulous dresses. And yet many of the new fashion trends are the opposite. Like gorpcore.
So which one is it? Are we dressing up or down? Heels or flats? Done or undone?
It’s all very confusing, and yet amidst the chaos, there is one clear message out there. Stop fretting about your hair! We made the bold prediction a couple of weeks ago that the headband would be the look of the summer of 2021.
However, our intrepid team has sussed out a new “it” item of similar form and function: the baseball hat for women. Long worn by tennis players, dads, golfers and beach-goers, the baseball hat has recently become a fashion -girl staple.

Since they were first spotted on the S/S 21 runways, with brands like Celine styling them in nearly every look, baseball caps have been popping up everywhere.
Everyone from Scandinavian minimalist maven Pernille Teisbaek to rapper Megan Thee Stallion and off-duty models Bella Hadid and Hailey Beiber have been spotted sporting this summer’s new must-have wardrobe item.
No longer solely reserved for morning hikes, ball games or weekend errands, baseball caps add an instant cool factor to just about any look. Be it a sports bra and leggings or a breezy summer dress – much like designer sneakers.
Not to mention that a good baseball hat is also the perfect lazy-day solution for when you can’t be bothered with hair and makeup, but still want to look at least a little bit put-together.
Which in our case is almost every day.
