Our correspondent Meredith Lepore demonstrates that just in time for holiday party season, hosiery and tights have become the new luxury “It” accessories. Here’s our take on the best luxury designer logo embellished, patterned and fishnet tights and stockings from Chanel, Gucci, Burberry and more for 2021 holiday parties.
Designer logo Hosiery and Tights are the luxury “It” Accessory for holiday parties in 2021
it all began with Gossip Girl
Though Blair Waldorf mostly got sartorial attention for her headbands, her tights game was, for lack of a better word, tight. Tights of all different colors were part of the signature Gossip Girl look (original, not the reboot. This was before the era of the leggings.) They conveyed an upper-class polished sensibility when paired with plaid skirts and lace or velvet party dresses.

But except for the occasional Fosse-fashion moment, tights are usually written off as requirements for little girls (which they, of course, find very itchy). Or an annoying winter accessory to stay warm. That is until the runway at the Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2022 show. The designer proved that a woman should always be dripping in diamonds – including on her tights.
alexander mcqueen ups the ante
The designer behind the tights, creative director Sarah Burton, was inspired by “the idea of the McQueen woman being a storm chaser.” Though it is hard to imagine Helen Hunt in Twister trying to run after (and away from) tornados in these heavily adorned tights. She would have been swept up in that cyclone faster than Dorothy Gale.
The good news is you don’t have to worry about getting a run in these tights (but you may have to worry about pulling a muscle.)
Lady Gaga sported a pair on her press tour for House of Gucci (she paired them with Gucci apparel, of course.)

And though diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then Chanel is that friend you will do anything to be associated with (Chanel is the Regina George of friendships.)
in the end, though, its all about the chanel logo tights
The iconic double C logo is immediately associated in the mind with luxury, class, style, and Paris so why wouldn’t you want that all over your legs? Danish influencer Pernille Teisbæk sure did when she posted a photo of just her legs in the tights with the caption, “If I was going out.”

But these are Chanel, which means they look good even when you are just lounging dramatically in a chair.
From Vogue: “Accessory of the season, the Chanel branded tights have already taken hold of Instagram. Available in black or white, the signature shades of the house of Chanel. Seen in the wardrobes of Chloé Harrouche aka Loulou de Saison, who wore her pair during the show with riding boots… Monica Ainley de la Villardière wore the tights to unveil an ankle chain for a more summery look. Or opt for Pernille Teisbaek’s look, who wears them in the evening associated with a pair of mules or jeweled heels.”

According to Vogue, the tights retail for £330 ($442). But since they’re likely to be sold out online, you may want to purchase them directly from a Chanel boutique.
If you can’t get your hands on a pair of Chanel logo tights, you can achieve a similar designer logo look in other luxury brand tights. Or opt for fun patterns like the polka-dotted pair Katie Holmes sported recently. Check out the best designer logo tights and patterned stockings of the season!
