Experience London like a Fashion Insider at these 6 Hot Spots
London Fashion Week ends tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean the party has to stop. After all, immediately following LFW comes the retail-focused London Fashion Week Festival, which is open to the general public.
But first, a quick recap. This year, LFW kicked off with a touching memorial to the recently deceased iconic British designer Vivienne Westwood. Attendees included Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. Among the designers that showed at LFW this year were Burberry, Mowalowla, JW Anderson and Erdem. Here are all the posh places and hot spots to experience London like a fashion editor.
6 Places to Experience London like a Fashion Editor
1. NOMAD LONDON
NoMad London is a luxury hotel located inside the historic, Grade II-listed building famously known as The Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station in Covent Garden. Its culinary program includes three unique venues — NoMad Restaurant & Atrium Bar, Side Hustle, Common Decency and The Library — that fuse the creative talents of Executive Chef Ashley Abodeely with the bartending genius of Leo Robitschek and Liana Oster. The Nomad has definitely become a celebrity magnet both for dining or staying in one of the exquisite rooms (Lena Dunham and Alexa Chung are both fans.)
2. Sexy Fish, Mayfair
You may not think of fish as sexy, but this place more than lives up to what its name promises. Known for amazing seafood—you must try the spicy tuna and tempura prawn roll—this has become one of the “it” spots during Fashion Week. And really every week (the Frank Gehry and Damien Hirst installations definitely help.) It’s glam, it’s fun and you will definitely see some very high-profile people. And the food? Sensational.
3. Petersham Nurseries
If you need a little break from the hustle and bustle of London Fashion Week then this rustic and serene restaurant may be just what you need. You will feel like you are in the English countryside and you didn’t even have to get in your car. It is farm-to-table and though the menu is ever-evolving, it is always delicious.
4. The Maine Mayfair
Another tranquil respite from busy fashion week but the interior design of this townhouse definitely brings your dining experience to a different level. Since opening in 2021, it has been a go-to spot for the fashion crowd of London (especially if you enjoy delicious lobster and, well, who doesn’t?)
5. The Berners Tavern, Fitzrovia
Located in The London Edition, this is a celebrity magnet with everyone from George Clooney to Rita Ora to Leonardo DiCaprio dropping in over the years to get one of those covered corner tables.
6. Annabel’s, Berkeley Square
You’ll feel like you are about to do a shoot for British Vogue if you can snag an invitation to this gorgeous members-only club (you’ll also probably see about 5 Vogue editors on any given day there.) The façade at Annabel’s is always totally over the top, so you can’t miss it if you walk by (see below for their Christmas 2021 exterior decorations). Basically, its a private club that definitely wants to be seen – so you can check any shyness you have at the door.
They also just transformed their ‘Elephant Bar’ into a Japanese dining space and it is not to be missed.
