2. sharjah biennial 15
Titled “Thinking Historically in the Present,” the 15th edition of the Sharjah Biennial will feature 70 new works by the likes of John Akomfrah, Coco Fusco, Mona Hatoum, Doris Salcedo, and Kerry James Marshall. The show will take place across 18 venues in the emirate of Sharjah and will feature more than 150 artists from 70 countries – Feb 7 – Jun 11
3. super bowl lvii
Super Bowl LVII kicks off at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. The nine time grammy award winner Rihanna will headline the halftime show. So get your game food and your party outfit ready – Feb 12
4. maría berrío: the children’s crusade
Colombian-born, New York-based artist María Berrío’s exhibition at ICE Boston adapts the experiences of women and children at the border into a magical realist meditation on freedom and displacement. The Children’s Crusade references the 1212 historical sensation in which, according to lore, children walked through France and Italy to convert Muslims to Christianity – Feb 16 – Aug 6

Kicking off “Fashion Month” is the innovative Copenhagen Fashion Week (Jan 31 – Feb 3), followed by New York Fashion Week (Feb 10 – 15), featuring Brandon Maxwell, Proenza Schouler and PatBO among others. Later in the month there’s London Fashion Week (17 – 21), Milan Fashion Week (Feb 21 – 27) and the start of Paris Fashion Week (Feb 27 – Mar 7) to close out February – Jan 31 – Mar 7

Based on Ann Napolitano’s novel, Dear Edward on Apple TV+ follows the aftermath of an airline crash that leaves behind a lone survivor, 12-year-old Edward Adler and leads to unexpected connections between others who lost loved ones. It stars Taylor Schilling and Connie Britton – Feb 3
10. your place or mine
In the Netflix rom-com Your Place or Mine, Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher star as best friends who live across the country from each other. When they decide to do a house swap for a week, it shakes things up in ways they didn’t expect – Feb 10
11. ant-man and the wasp: quantumania
Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicks off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. After being delayed for a year, the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise follows Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang as he explores the Quantum Realm alongside his squad of superheroes – Feb 17

The Company You Keep on ABC follows Charlie (Milo Ventimiglia), a con man who has a one-night stand with an undercover CIA officer named Emma (Catherine Haena Kim), and now, they are unknowingly on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the “family business” so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in hand – Feb 19

Wagner’s romantic Lohengrin makes a long-awaited return to the Met stage, in a new staging by François Girard. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts an all star cast led by tenor Piotr Beczała in the title role, alongside sopranos Tamara Wilson and Christine Goerke – Feb 26

The annual White Turf competition will be held over three weekends in St. Moritz. The iconic event features skiers being pulled by horses over a frozen lake. In addition to the horse races, the event features gourmet cuisine, live music and contemporary art exhibitions. Expect lots of champagne on ice, along with the winter sunshine and stunningly beautiful, snow-capped mountains – Feb 4 – 5, 11- 12 and 18 – 19

17. chicago auto show
First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America; this year marks the 115th edition – Feb 11 – 20
18. discover boating miami international boat show
The Miami International Boat Show and the Miami Yacht Show have joined forces to create the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, the largest boat and yacht event in the world with over 1,000 exhibitors. Beyond the boats, this year’s show will also offer live concerts, interactive boating experiences and six venues (both on water and on land) filled with the latest in aquatic recreation – Feb 15 – 19

Art Wynwood returns to Biscayne Bay for its 10th year – Feb 17 – 19
20. frieze los angeles
For 2023, Frieze Los Angeles moves to the Santa Monica airfield, where more than 120 of the world’s leading galleries will exhibit work – Feb 16 – 19

Started in 1933 as a simple local fruit show, the Fête de Citron in Menton, France has grown to be much more. It’s now an internationally renowned event, drawing 160,000 visitors to a joyful jamboree every year. The theme for this year’s event is “Rock et Opéra” – Feb 11 – 26

24. taste of the nfl
Taste of the NFL is an annual event ahead of the Super Bowl that brings gourmet food, celebrity chef competitions and presentations. This year the walkaround tasting party will be held at the Chateau Luxe in north Phoenix. All proceeds will benefit GENYOUth’s End Student Hunger fund. This fund provides monetary and equipment grants to schools to increase access to meals – Feb 11

The 22nd annual Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival takes place over the course of 5 days. A showcase for renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities. This year’s festival will feature more than 100 events across Greater Miami – Feb 23 – 26

The first hints of spring arrive at the Kew Gardens London Orchid Festival from February 5 – March 6. The New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show celebrates its 20th year on February 18th with acclaimed artist Lily Kwong. The Pacific Orchid and Garden Exposition takes place in San Francisco from February 24-25.

The 137th Groundhog Day is February 2nd. February 4th is World Cancer Day which aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness about cancer.
Valentine’s Day is the 14th so be ready with a thoughtful gift for him or her, something sweet for the little ones, a box of chocolates or dinner plans. President’s Day in the U.S. is the 20th.
Last but not least, in Canada and America, it’s Black History Month, an annual remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
