Love will find a way, even in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. While many engaged couples have postponed their nuptials until it’s safe to host a large gathering again, others have taken to the air. Done properly, a private jet becomes the means to wed in luxury without waiting to start your marriage due to COVID-19 restrictions. Curious? Destination weddings may have always involved a private jet – but in 2021, the jet is the destination. Our correspondent Meredith Lepore has the download on what you need to know about the new ultimate luxury wedding in the sky, with the best private jet serving as your magic carpet.
The Ultimate Luxury Wedding Now Requires the Best Private Jet
Though 2021 has presented us with an inauspicious start in many ways, there is a glimmer of hope we can hold onto. We just need to look to the sky.
And no, we’re not trying to spot Superman. We’re talking private jets and weddings and ways to defeat COVID-19 restrictions if you have the resources and the will.

In 2021, we believe that travel will make a comeback. It may look a little different, but it is coming. “For the first time in a long time, I’m feeling optimistic about travel again,” says Jan L. Jones, a professor of hospitality and tourism at the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

The pent-up demand and growing wanderlust is unprecedented. Nearly 100 percent of US and Canadian travelers are eager to travel again, with 70 percent stating that they plan to take a vacation in 2021, according to a Travel Leaders Group survey of almost 3,000 frequent travelers.
Weddings just took on a whole new level with private aviation
And along with travel, there will be weddings. Yes, weddings will look different too but that’s not always the worst thing. Both of these industries faced devastating losses because of the pandemic. Zoom weddings became the norm with only tiny guest lists (or none at all) or weddings were just postponed inevitably.
Like so many industries, aviation and wedding planners (and brides and grooms) had to think outside the box in order to survive this plague. For aviation, many private jet companies constructed more accessible and affordable packages.

Some partnered with resorts and hotels in order to cater to a wider base of customers while still upholding a luxury travel experience. For example, Rosewood Little Dix Bay is working with Ocean Tropic Airways and its concierge service Volo Travel and private aviation solutions provider XO launched luxury travel packages for members at five leading resorts and properties across the country as well as the Caribbean.

In this new world, weddings at 30,000 feet may be the ultimate luxury
But perhaps one of the best thinking outside-the-box scenarios was done by Air Charter Service with their “Ultimate Wedding in the Sky” package. It allows a happy couple to say “I do” at 40,000 feet (you may not be able to Zoom it, but you will certainly remember it) in front of a small group of friends and family or just with each other and the flight crew. Social distancing rules will of course be followed.
Packages range in price from $18,000 to $28,000 (depending on the plane size) and include chauffeured transport to and from the plane, champagne, canapes and personalized wedding favors for the party, flower arrangements, an in-flight playlist and even a choice of route.
Andy Christie, Air Charter Service’s group private jet director, said in a company statement, “Our ‘Weddings in the Sky’ experiences include all food and beverages and can be tailor-made to suit couples’ needs, whether they want to celebrate with close family and friends or elope, just the two of them. The flight route can be pre-arranged, so the aircraft can fly over areas of significance to those who are celebrating their marriage.”

Clearly this trend is catching on as NetJets, which owns and operates more than 750 luxurious aircrafts, just partnered with Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos and includes a wedding package as part of the launch.
Wedding guests can travel via one of the state of the art planes for 6 to 14 passengers. They can sample Costa Palmas’ exclusive tequila blend, CP73, and slip on those ultra-comfy Four Seasons slippers.
After landing they will be taken to the East Cape of Baja to the beautiful resort in Costa Palmas. Before they get to watch the happy couple get married on the resort’s private boat they can swim at the flawless beaches or one of the six pools.
The Ultimate Luxury Wedding Now Requires the Best Private Jet
For anyone that is feeling that immense need to travel and see the world this new private jet and destination wedding trend during COVID-19 restrictions in 2021 allows you to escape and celebrate. Weddings and travel may never be quite the same but the view from the flight (or the boat) doesn’t look too shabby.
