Team Snow, look alive! This one is for you. As much as we love to ski and snowboard (and as you know, we really do), the sweetest part of a ski weekend can be après-ski. When we ask friends about the best places in the world to ski, part of the conversation is always about what there is do after everyone comes off the mountain. Which leads us to an even more pressing question: Where are the best new luxury spots for après-ski? Our correspondent Meredith Lepore has curated a list of 6 new luxury travel spots with pop-up bars and restaurants perfect to enjoy winter 2022 après-ski in Aspen, Zermatt, Jackson Hole and more.
best places for luxury après-ski this winter 2022
People often say when they go skiing that they mostly do it for the après–ski. After all, sitting by a cozy fire while drinking delicious cocktails and snacks sounds pretty appealing (unless you are one of those people who likes skiing more than sitting around drinking.)
Plus, the clothing is awesome (it is very Slim Aarons meets Royal Tenenbaums in winter). But at the end of the day it really comes down to the location of where you are having your après–ski experience (and your ski experience I suppose as well.) Hotels and companies have come up with some totally new and different places to get your after ski on.

1 and 2. Select Aperitivo Select Slopeside pop-ups in Aspen and The Catskills
We begin our list of the best new pop-up bars and restaurants to enjoy winter 2022 après-ski in places like Aspen, Zermatt and Jackson Hole with a two-fer.
Après-ski may be a French term but it doesn’t mean you can’t do it with an Italian drink.

This winter season, Select Aperitivo, the chosen aperitivo of Venetians, launched Select Slopeside, a creative pop-up hosted at three properties across the U.S. for the ultimate après ski experience: W Aspen and Viceroy Snowmass in Aspen, Colorado, and Urban Cowboy’s The Lodge in Upstate New York. This is running all winter long and these locations are truly iconic.

The popup started in Aspen at the W with an oversized après-inspired ski backdrop designed with Select’s signature red and navy color palette. Then skiers can warm up with a fire shaped like the drink’s quintessential garnish, a green olive, while sipping on a post-slopes cocktail. And are you even having an experience if you don’t have a DJ branded booth while you look at the mountains?

The pop-up at the base of Snowmass Mountain at the Viceroy Snowmass hotel is outfitted with a vintage ski wall that will serve as a backdrop for the lively pop-up, running through the property’s busiest season from January 14th through April 2nd. Inspired by Slim Aarons’ 1979 photograph of Princess Lucy Ruspoli, the wall will serve as the perfect après-chic photo opp for patrons looking to imbibe and cheers a thrilling run on the slopes. Additional decor will include a Spritz This Way sign, leading post-slopes visitors right to Viceroy Snowmass for a Select Spritz which will be offered at a special rate of $8 for prime après hours 2:30pm – 4:30pm.

On the east coast, skiers from nearby Belleayre Mountain can swing by The Urban Cowboy Lodge from January 30th through April 3rd on Saturdays and Sundays to experience the pop-up and sip on a spritz. Nestled on 68 acres in the very up and coming Big Indian Wilderness, if you are a fan of classic Catskills with an Brooklyn-hipster update then this is the dream hotel for you. From the onpoint interior design (if you aren’t a fan of Pendelton then you better move on) to the delicious cocktails, this is quintessential cocktails. And let’s not forgot that each room is furnished with its own stunning bathtub, made for all your Instagram dreams. It doesn’t matter that it may be in the teens outside. That tub will warm you up in seconds.

4. Caldera House, Jackson Hole
Can you even call it Apres Ski without Jackson Hole? And you must check out Caldera House. Yes, it is a favorite of the Kardashians but we won’t hold that against them. The eight-suite luxury hotel and alpine club is in Jackson’s Teton Village. The four-bedroom suites come adorned with their own jacuzzi, dining room, home theater and patio complete with a fire pit. There is also an onsite fitness center and a spa. Who needs to even go skiing? But you may want to as a private session with Bode Miller is an option as well as heli-skiing, if you are the adventurous type.
