But this season, the temperature is a lot hotter than that. The print of choice of spring summer 2020 is all about the tropics: darker greens, and vibrant jewel tones like red, orange and yellow. Monkeys and parrots. And hot-house orchids

forests, jungles, and oceans are ground zero for the effects of climate change. At Marni, Francesco Risso built an entire collection around the transcendental beauty of the wilderness, using upcycled materials and elaborate floral headdresses by Julien d’Ys. Others followed in his path, making prints out of palm fronds, exotic flowers, and seaside sunsets.

Jungle-inspired prints — including ferns, leaves and other flora and fauna — popped up on a number of key runways. Versace’s tropical designs, including the now-viral look worn by J.Lo; Prada’s subtle fern detailing; Marni’s painterly styles; and Bottega’s minimalist take. But also FENDI print and Louis Vuitton orchid brooches. Valentino print and color palette.
