Fashion designer Vera Wang knows a thing or two about festive occasions. She’s been designing wedding gowns, evening gowns and festive ready-to-wear outfits for celebrities and the rest of us for years. But now, she’s taking the idea of a chic party up a notch, with a new bubbly brand of the sparkling Italian wine prosecco called – wait for it – PARTY. Our correspondent Meredith Lepore shares what she learned during her interview with Vera Wang about her new brand of bubbly, PARTY prosecco, which sounds like the perfect drink for post-pandemic celebrations this summer 2021. Vera Wang knows exactly what to pair with the perfect party dress — bubbles.
The iconic wedding gown designer has launched her very own Prosecco, and, fittingly named, it’s called PARTY. The inspiration, she says, is all about having fun.

After all Wang has been helping people celebrate their biggest day for years so why not give them a drink?

“I’ve dedicated my entire life to designing how people celebrate, and not just their weddings — from what they wear to how they entertain, from their tableaux and tablescapes, to how they live at home — and now, what they drink,” Wang said in a statement about her new bubbly.

“PARTY is a natural extension of what I already do. When I think of romance, fun, laughter, joy, friendship, I think of prosecco, it is the wine that personifies emotion and sheer happiness,” she added.
PEOPLE reports that the designer celebrated her 72nd birthday on June 27th by hosting a lavish party in a neon yellow dress that matched her newly launched Vera Wang Party Prosecco.

As you can imagine, the metallic silver, neon printed bottle is a work of art itself (would you expect any less from this fashion genius?) The $25 spirit comes packaged in a matte silver bottle that features the word “PARTY” in bold font and neon yellow letters on the front and an invitation to celebrate from Wang on the back.
And Wang didn’t just make a drink you swallow politely during a toast. She made a delicious beverage to celebrate all occasions. It is for celebrating even the smallest of things, as she confesses to partying by herself quite frequently.

Wang sources her prosecco from the piemonte
To make the 11.5% alcohol, Wang turned to the region of Piemonte in Italy known for its sparkling wines, and specifically to Araldica, the producer of the best-selling Moscato in America. She partnered with winemaker Claudio Manera, one of Italy’s fastest-growing producers, because of their immense passion for their life’s work.
The prosecco is “a very modern take,” Wang says, which also represents her approach to design: “As someone who likes to drink and enjoys alcohol, this was a very amazing opportunity for me,” she adds.

wedding or not, post-pandemic life deserves a good prosecco
As for her tips on partying in this new post-pandemic era, Wang says: “Everybody is so anxious to celebrate life again and their connection to others. It’s just a moment where I think everybody learned a very big lesson where people learned how human we are and when you take away that human factor it is debilitating to most of us.
For that reason, though it wasn’t intended two years ago [when they started the process] it really is a wonderful moment where we are all feeling human again and certainly more hopeful. There will be a future for all of us,” she said during a virtual event with the press.
And hey, if you aren’t in the market for a wedding dress, a bottle of prosecco is much more wallet-friendly.
