what’s the color of September?
Here at Dandelion Chandelier, we think September means a return to serious matters. But not in a gloomy way. The month is a perfect balance of light and heavy; silly and serious; sweet and sour; escapist, and yet filled with hard truths. Winter is coming – but it’s not here yet.
Which got us to thinking about rich jewel tones. And school uniforms. Tartan plaid. Cozy wool blankets for autumn football games. Hikes in the forest.
So what is the essential color of the month of September? We’re feeling forest green. Emerald. Hunter green. Ivy. A deep, rich green so dark it’s almost black. The color of pine trees in the woods on an autumn hike. Of green glass bottles washed ashore on a late-summer beach.

Dark green looks good on almost anyone, and it’s an unexpected play of color in a sea of black, grey and navy. It goes well – as all neutrals do – with almost anything. Including leopard prints.
A good green is hard to find. But we’ve managed to round up some all-stars from the fall-winter 2020-21 collections.
